Back in 2002 when I launched my very first e-commerce website, I quickly learnt that the guy’s who not only survived but made lots of money, were those who had Google Page 1, Positon 1 or 2 Rankings for Keywords and phrases…..because they got all of the Organic Traffic….and it’s still the same Today. It’s about Organic Traffic and AUDIENCE.

IT’S AS SIMPLE AS THIS:

CREATE CONTENT = AUDIENCE

AUDIENCE               = ADVERTISING

POOR CONTENT     = NO AUDIENCE

NO AUDIENCE         = NO ADVERTISING

Content keeps you in front of your Audience and converts to sales

Optimising and Ranking the RIGHT CONTENT on Google = TRAFFIC of the RIGHT AUDIENCE

Ranking content...there is only so much "webspace of digital land" out there, everybody needs to capture as much space as possible

If you have (or building) an email list, you need to send your email subscribers to INTERESTING CONTENT (don't just send emails every now and again SELLING all of the time)....Write content that interests your demographics & connected to what you do

Continuity....you need to be writing content on a regular basis (Weekly!) & again, it needs to be interesting to the reader!

What I’ve learnt….

I’ve never created the “PERFECT CONTENT” but what I have learnt it that you need to be “CREATING CONTENT” constantly, perfect or not……WHY?

So here’s an example.

We wanted to generate and optimize content targetting Skiers and Snowboarders and this content came in to my feed from “WHY HIRING SKI EQUIPMENT IN A SKI RESORT CAN SAVE YOU MONEY“….there’s some strong feelings from both Skiers and Snowboarders about this so we wrote some content and shot a video about it…

1. It started with a Facebook Post which came in to my feed…

2. We had a strong view on this so we left a message on the post and got a response..

3. We created a video around the subject….

4. Within hours it was Ranking on YouTube and Google Videos…

5. Then we wrote content on the subject on the Blog Area….

6. Page started to Rank (Ranked 18th on Google Page 2 within 4 days on Google)….not a bad start and something to build on

6. Now we just need to “RINSE AND REPEAT” this process with an associated subject to target my “SKI or Snowboard” Audience….
